DOGS for ADOPTION:
Hoping for Forever Homes
This list will grow over time, so please be sure to scroll through the entire list to see the latest dogs - we'll be listing the ones who've been on this list the longest at the top, so newer dogs will be at the bottom. You may also want to check out our HAPPY ENDINGS at the very bottom of this page - where we post information on the dogs who've found loving homes.
Please help us move ALL of these dogs to the list that have found forever homes!
is a 5 year old, German Shepherd/Pit Bull mix who weighs about 60 lbs. He's very sweet and laid back. He loves kids, especially playing with them. Buster gets along well with other dogs. He is fantastic on a leash, takes food very gently, and is just a wonderful, wonderful dog! He's also a very happy guy, lots and lots of tail-wagging all the time, and SOOO affectionate! Buster just goes with the flow and would thrive in any family setting.

Jack Jack is a handsome, 3-year-old guy who loves car rides, snuggling with the people he loves, and going for long walks. Unfortunately, after more than a year of bouncing around between foster homes and kennels, this once outgoing pup is feeling pretty insecure. Jack is hoping and praying for someone special to give him the safety and stability he needs to enjoy his favorite things again!
Jack Jack is a sweet, one-year-old boxer mix who is full of happy energy! He loves peanut butter, his Wobble Kong, belly rubs, car rides and jogs or walks with his foster mom and dad. This boy gets along with most dogs provided that they are properly introduced. Jack would do best in a home with experienced dog owners who are dedicated to making sure he receives enough exercise and stimulation and who will continue his obedience training.
Haley Haley is an amazingly sweet, gentle dog looking for a permanent foster home. She's about 7 years old and we believe she's a lab and black mouth cur mix. Haley enjoys going for short walks. She has slipped discs and arthritis in her spine. Despite her physical issues, she has a bright, bubbly personality. She's excellent with children. Haley is pretty indifferent towards other dogs, but she doesn't want them touching her or getting too close. Due to the discomfort she most likely feels in her back, it makes her nervous if dogs try to play and we can't blame her for that. She will most likely try to chase cats. CPAA would love to find her a permanent home where she can be your one and only.

Jewels Jewels is a fun-loving, affectionate, laid back and sweet pure bred 6-7 yr old, 80 lb, Rottweiler girl who would make a great companion and a great addition to any home. We believe that she was previously used as a breeder dog as she has obviously had several litters of puppies over the years. However she is ready to enjoy life now as a swinging single girl and be the spoiled pup that she deserves to be! Jewels gets along well with both her feline and canine foster siblings (both male and female) in her current foster home but she would love a home of her own where she can play ball, her favorite game, and spend lots of time snuggling with her human family members.

Monkey Meet Monkey, or "Monk" for short! He's a pretty cool guy who is looking for either a foster or furever home of his very own! Monk is a 1-2 yr old, 70 lb, Bull Terrier mix with lots of energy to spare and tons of love to give! He loves to snuggle and loves his human friends but is sometimes selective with his dog companions, so proper introductions would be required if you already have dogs at home. We are not too sure how Monk would handle feline companions but we can check that out ahead of time too.
Monk has had a pretty rough life up to this point and lived in a very unsafe home. Thankfully some great rescuers stepped up and managed to get him removed from that life and now this sweet boy is ready to move on to the spoiled life that all dogs deserve.

Major Tom Major Tom (previously known as Major Turnip) was on Death's doorstep when we were contacted to assist him. A plea was issued club-wide and a foster home volunteered to give this puppy a chance to have a life filled with happiness. One week later, Major Tom and his buddy, Son, a red tick coonhound (on his way to CT) made their way north over a two day transport. Once he arrived in Harrisburg, PA, it was obvious that Major Tom was a bull terrier mix (probably with pit bull) but once committed, BRBTC follows through.
Looking at the vet paperwork was more than a little heart-wrenching. This poor boy has been in rescue since he was 7 months old when he was hit by a car. He turned 2 in June...that's 18 MONTHS in rescue! Other than some slight scarring on a back leg, Major Tom shows no ill effects from the accident and runs like the wind. Even though he has only know a life of hardship and the stress of a rescue environment, his personality certainly does not show it. He is a sweet, cuddly boy, eager to please and has quite a few tricks up his paw to show anyone that will take the time for a shake or high five.
His white and smoky gray fur is super soft and silky to hug. He loves nothing better than following a game of fetch with a good cuddle, laying his head on your lap while he snoozes beside you.
He attended the 2015 Bully Bash with BRBTC at the York SPCA and made many friends. He was nothing but wags & wiggles with all the dogs and people (young and old) that he met. He is currently interacting well with the two female bull terriers in his foster home. He shows a lot of interest in the cat in the foster home but he will obediently remain on the other side of the threshold with the cat in the other room. Can you open your heart and home to this handsome, clown?
Up-to-date on vaccines
Well trained in basic obedience (we're working on a strong "stay" & "leave it" currently)
Very good at leaving grumpy dogs alone and playing with those that want to play. He reads other dogs well.
Rides very nicely in the car
Learning to walk nicely...still some pulling early in the walk but settles in after that initial excitement wears off

Pepper Pepper is a 7-8 year old, miniature poodle who weighs about 18 lbs. He has an adorable personality that slowly blossoms once he knows you. Sadly, Pepper was hit in a previous home so he is unsure of strangers if they make sudden movements towards him. Pepper needs to approach new people on his own and then he's okay to be pet. He loves back rubs! He gets along with most dogs. Pepper would love to finally find some stability in his life. He's been tossed around from home to home and deserves to finally find that perfect fit!

Penni Penni is an energetic, happy and friendly American Staffordshire Terrier/Hound mix who would love to be able to call your home, her home. This sweet girl has a rough past and came to us not long after having a litter of puppies, her milk barely dried up and her ears so infected that they were almost completely swollen shut. She was also frost bitten and covered in an itchy rash from head to toe. Despite the obvious past neglect and lack of proper vet care Penni rebounded quickly and has learned to shine while in her current foster home. She is incredibly friendly with children of all ages, gets along with dogs of all shapes and sizes and loves all adult humans (male and female) that she comes into contact with. Unfortunately she is not a pup who cares for cats so a feline-free home is a necessity. Penni is housebroken, crate trained and learning basic obedience commands but she is also stubborn and easily distracted, so it would be best if she attends a basic obedience with her new adoptive family. She loves Nylabones, Kongs with cream cheese, carrots and nearly every other chewy treat that she can get her teeth on. She is not destructive though and takes good care of her dog bed and other belongings.

Ariel Ariel is a sweet, 1 year old, bull terrier mix. She weighs 40lbs and is quite dainty. Ariel's temperament is excellent. She absolutely LOVES dogs and people! She's a great cuddling buddy and is relatively calm considering her young age.
Ariel is a graduate of the HOPE Dogs program. You can read more about her here: http://hopedogs.org/ariel-camphill.html
Ariel is crate trained, spayed, microchipped and has had all of her vaccinations. We'd love to see her land a home with at least one canine buddy since she loves other dogs so much!

Ricky is a sweet, approximately 9 year old, husky/shiba inu mix (our best guess). He weighs about 46 lbs. He gets along with cats, kids and other dogs. LOVES car rides, hiking or just laying around on the couch with you. Ricky listens very well both off and on leash. He knows how to sit, lay down, stay, and come when called. He takes treats gently from your hand and loves the ball! Ricky would be best with female dogs or okay with a submissive male. He currently lives with a few male and female dogs and does pretty well. He definitely likes to be the boss though. Ricky's crate trained and really doesn't bark unless you crate him. He will quiet down after a few minutes. His energy level is easy going and calm. He is even a good boy in the bath tub! :)
