The Central Pennsylvania Animal Alliance (CPAA) is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that consists of an alliance of local animal rescue organization partners, working together to save the lives of dogs and cats through extensive spay/neuter programs, adoptions and fostering, and public outreach and education.
CPAA brings together individuals and area rescue and shelter groups to end the killing of dogs and cats as the means of animal population control. Together, we can create a “no-kill” community in central Pennsylvania that is better for both people and animals.
Every litter is a tragedy, because each litter of puppies or kittens born means more shelter animals die.
Don't breed or buy while homeless animals die.

We are happy to report that Dusty Rose is well on her way to recovery and living the good life in her brand new home! This sweet girl was found by a dumpster on New Year’s Eve and was suffering with a prolapsed uterus. Due to the stalemate between the City of Harrisburg and the Humane Society of the Harrisburg Area, CPAA stepped in to rescue her and took her to the Animal Emergency and Referral Center of York for surgery.
We weren’t sure how we would pay for her surgery, but thanks to the generosity and compassion of so many people, we didn’t have to worry for long. Not only did you donate enough money to pay for the $1,600 procedure, but you also gave us the resources to create Dusty Rose’s Fund to help provide medical care for other city dogs rescued by CPAA and our member organizations.

If you can help by providing a temporary – or permanent – home to these dogs, please visit our fostering page or email us at info@cpaa.info.
